Is there, like, a casual conversations community on Dreamwidth?  Where you'd just like...post and chat about anything and everything?

Good question; I don't know.
I think many of us use our own journals (and our circle's journals) in that way, but the amount of conversation depends on how much you post and each journal's subscribers. From my perspective, having a separate community for general conversation seems unnecessary, but I can see why others might like it.

I found this one but it currently has no members and apparently was never updated:

Many other communities which show up in the search results haven't been updated in a long time, so you might have to try a lot of different keywords to see if you can find any active ones that interest you.

Yes, that's the kind of thing I was wondering about! Looks like it never got off the ground, though.
