I love the bleakness of this setting, the oppressive and hopeless atmosphere, the unrelenting dread and torment. And how the survivors might carve out some solace for themselves amidst it all. I'm also all about the overwhelming power of the Killers compared to the Survivors and how oppressive it must be facing the Killers.
I also love all the Survivors and Killers, and would be thrilled to see any extras show up, even ones I didn't specifically request!
Something interesting about Ace is that while he's a grifter and a conman, two thirds of his perks are entirely team-focused. Up the Ante and Open-Handed are both about benefiting the team. So I like to read him as having a team player side. Still a grifter, but a grifter that will go to bat for his friends or who will maybe be good at reading the mood of the group and helping to keep spirits up, that kind of thing. Just a fun read I took from his perks!
Finally, I'm always on board for ~ * handwavy Entity reasons * ~ if you have a cool idea and need a way to make it work.

- Felix or Ace: First time in a trial! How did they break him in? And/or first time at the Campfire, learning the true extent of his new horrible eternity.
- Felix with Jill or Leon: Competence! Specifically, anything highlighting Jill and/or Leon's skill and competence in these kinds of horrific situations, especially given Felix's cushy life pre-Entity. So, Leon or Jill being protective and cool and Big Fucking Heroes! With Felix maybe providing some comfort or patching them up afterward!
- Any Survivor(s): So we know there are cults around that worship the Entity, and I want the Survivors to encounter one of these cults! :D Before the Survivors were pulled into the realms or in an effort to escape or just because of handwavy Entity reasons, bring them face to face with an Entity cult!
- Any Survivors: Hurt/comfort around the Campfire! Where the comfort is meager and weak because everyone is so very traumatized and wrung out and they have almost nothing left to give. :D Art-wise, I can picture characters huddled together, grim and haggard, taking whatever pitiful comfort they can from each other. :D
- Any Survivors: Art or fic of any character interacting with, making, finding, burning, or using their offerings! Some of the offerings are so evocative or funny. Any kind of lore-focused piece on these would also be welcome. A few favorites: any of the shrouds, any of the various herbal/plant sachets, the wards, the wreaths, the coins, Bloody Party Streamers, any of the cakes.
Isaac/Ellie - Isaac/Carver - Isaac /& Jacob - Isaac/&Daina - Isaac & Stross
Notes:
Isaac getting beaten and menaced and tormented is the best thing ♥. I love watching him suffer, but I also love how he will NOT quit, and the crazy lengths he will go to make a thing happen. And then, on top of all that, he's always the one building other people up, keeping other people together, even when he's falling apart himself. And finally, I love those rare moments when he gets proper righteous angry. It doesn't happen often, but it is soooo cathartic when it does.
I love the eldritch, unknowable nature of the Markers/Moons and Isaac's relationship to them, how they're irrevocably a part of his life now and there's no escaping their touch on his mind. And I also loooove cults so I'm totally enamored with Unitology and how obsessed they are with Isaac and how it must be for him to be constantly be the object of their obsessions.
If you need to mess around with the circumstances of Norton's canonical death, or even ignore it entirely, go for it.

- Any: What if, amidst Isaac's madness during his captivity, he carved Marker language into his own body? Or what if Stross did it to him? And he has to live with seeing it every day, and has to deal with the possibility of someone else seeing it. What happens when Ellie or Carver discover them? What if Daina or Jacob need the formulas and secrets Isaac inscribed upon himself? Art-wise, seeing Isaac with Marker scrawl scarring any part of him would be real dope. :D

- Isaac with Daina or Stross: Unitology rituals on Titan! They had Isaac for three years. They knew he had intimate contact with the object of their worship. What did they put him through? I want to see ritualistic medical torture/mindfuck/experimentation! Religious rites combined with evil space science!
- Isaac/Carver: Carver reading up on the intel EarthGov has on Isaac. He'd want to know who this guy is before encountering him right? Or something set further forward, after they've gotten to know each other better, and Carver has to square the person EarthGov SAID Isaac is with who Isaac actually is, because I'm guessing EarthGov didn't exactly give an accurate impression of Isaac. Carver put Isaac on the ground in two seconds flat at the start of the game—what made him think he had to bring that kind of heat?
- Isaac/Carver: Carver's presence is criminally glossed over in so many cut scenes to make the single player campaign make sense...fill in some of that silence! Any scene that seems fun, go for it. What about when he and Isaac are literally trapped in a tiny cage together after Norton locks them both in?
Adam/Koller- Adam/Miller - Adam/Pritchard
Notes:
Adam's iron woobie-ness is great, and one of my favorite things about the games is how they put him through hell but how he just keeps on surviving and enduring, but also while never losing his compassion. So any and all angst or suffering piled upon Adam is delightful.
The hardships heaped on augs are especially interesting to me, particularly when contrasting how Adam, Pritchard, or Koller react differently to them and also when contrasting the very different way society treats Miller versus Adam.
And I super love all the things unbalancing Miller/Adam. :D Age difference, the boss/subordinate thing, the vast social and class power difference, the vast physical power difference!
Prompts:
- Any: Halloween office partyyy! At TF29 or SI, or Koller having a party at The Time Machine!
- Any: Handcuffed together! Could be some kind of special aug restraint that even the augs can't break out of, so Adam just has to be attached to someone until a specialist or whatever can be found to free them. :D :D
- Adam/Miller: Established relationship fic that gets into the headaches of hiding their relationship. Or failing to hide it because maybe someone finds them out! Maybe someone figures out what they're doing, or maybe someone comes to Miller to tell him that Jensen is acting shady, lol.
- Adam/Koller, Pritchard: I would so enjoy getting to see Adam really laid out, badly injured, depowered maybe, his batteries drained, overclocked, etc. Anything so that Koller has to be there in his apartment fixing him and helping him out with even basic tasks for awhile!
- Adam/Koller, Pritchard: Adam teaches Koller or Pritchard gun/knife/self defense skills!
- Adam/Miller, Koller: An earthquake strands them in TF29 or underneath The Time Machine respectively!
Gabe/Jack/Ana - Reaper/Baptiste - Genji/Mercy
Notes:
For Gabe/Jack/Ana, I'm most interested in pre-Overwatch or anytime before or during the collapse of Overwatch!
And I just love pretty much any angle on Genji/Mercy. I love that she asked him out first, I love that them having a relationship didn't solve all Genji's problems and he had to go off on his own and do a lot of work on himself. I love that Mercy in her personal life can be standoffish and kind of off-putting to people and how that's what kind of brought them together because Genji wasn't put off at all.
I absolutely ADORE the entire cast of characters, so anyone you want or need to include, bring them the heck on! ♥

- Reaper/Soldier/Ana: Those tough, private conversations they must have had immediately post-Retribution. I'm guessing that what Gabe was willing to say in the debriefing is not necessarily what he was willing to say to them when they were alone.
- Reaper/Soldier/Ana: Early/first encounters! Maybe during the soldier enhancement program, or during Gabe's time as THE hero of the Omnic Crisis, when he was just Soldier: 24. Or maybe Ana's first meeting with them. Was she aware of them at all before she joined Overwatch? Did she have a fleeting encounter with either of them previously at all?
- Reaper/Baptiste: First encounter! When did they first meet and why? Did Reaper come in to salvage a mission gone wrong and end up saving Baptiste? Was Baptiste assigned as a medic for Reaper's unique condition? Was Baptiste just another nameless soldier in a squad meant to back Reaper up on a mission?
- Reaper/Baptiste: Post-desertion! Baptiste has fended off every Talon hit squad that came after him so far...until Reaper shows up.
- Genji/Mercy: Something set very early in their timeline when Genji is still in his angry stabby Blackwatch phase. Would love to see him trying to get his awkward bone on with this hot doctor who doesn't put up with his bullshit. ♥
- Genji/Mercy: Genji helping Mercy practice her self defense skills!
Kaidan/Male Shepard - Male Shepard & Any Squadmates
Notes:
I have a custom Shepard that you're welcome to use for artwork if you like. Totally up to you! This is him!
While it would be nice if Kaidan were romanceable for both Shepards in ME1, I do absolutely love the slow burn aspect of his friendship with mShep, turning into an estrangement in ME2, and finally reconciliation and a deeper relationship in ME3. Honestly I wouldn't change a thing about it even if I could! So no need for fix-it for ME1, I like them just as is there!
Prompts:
- Kaidan/Shep: Outsider perspective! Especially for a renegade Shepard with a dire reputation. Kaidan is a pretty staunch paragon, so what do people think about this mismatched pair? James probably had a few thoughts on Mars watching the two of them argue. Jack probably would have had an opinion! Maybe Dr. Chakwas? Anyone you think would have an interesting perspective on them, go for it!
- Kaidan/Shep: Kaidan's POV on Horizon! Would be really cool to get into his head when he sees Shepard, especially if Shepard shows up with those renegade scars. It must have made things even worse, seeing Shepard look like that.
- Kaidan/Shep: Kaidan's POV during the ME3 Citadel standoff with Shepard, or immediately after! That scene is so tense. What's going through his mind while he and Shepard have their guns pointed at each other? Or what about afterward, when he makes the decision to join the Normandy again. I would love something introspective on how he came to that decision.
- Shep & Squadmates: Halloween on the Normandy! :D How do they wrench some holiday fun out of their harrowing existence? Who wears a costume? Who insists on being festive and who is getting begrudgingly dragged into the festivities?
- Shep & Squadmates: After the ending of ME3! When they discover that Shepard actually survived! O:

But what IS it?
You play as Isaac Clarke, a ship engineer, responding to a distress call from the USG Ishimura. What you find there kicks off a story of horror, grief, and trauma that spans years of Isaac's life.
- Whump, iron woobies, and lots of suffering heaped on your protagonists. Canon pummels Isaac forwards, backwards, sideways, and diagonal from beginning to end and it never lets up. The best part is that none of it EVER keeps him down, and it's so very cathartic those rare times when he gets proper righteous angry.
- Cults. The entire story centers around a cult worshiping an eldritch alien artifact and, of course, this cult's obsession with Isaac!
- Cosmic/psychological horror and mindfucks. The question of what's real and not real is central to Dead Space. It really leans in to the mindfuck aspect of its lore. No specifics—I wouldn't want to ruin the surprises!
- Slash potential. The first two games pass without much potential for slash ships, but the third game really brings its A game in this regard with a great new character.
- Likeable male protagonists. Isaac is sweet, empathetic, and relatable. But he's also heroic, relentless, and absolutely balls-out awesome when he needs to be!
- Lore and story-rich games. I assumed Dead Space was all about shooting space zombies, and wow was I wrong. These games follow a continuous story with tons of lore and worldbuilding!

Dead Space has a smallish cast that centers around Isaac Clarke, the protagonist! Here's a quick rundown of my favs!
Isaac Clarke - It's always nice when you can fall in love with the main character! Isaac is great. As I said above, he's easy to like—the events of the story affect him deeply, but no matter how much he goes through, he's always trying to be a rock for the people around him. And he's a space engineer! Which ends up being relevant to the story in some cool ways. He also looks fantastic in those space suits!

Ellie/Isaac - The canon het ship! And do you guys know how rare it is for me to like a canon het ship? This one stands out. It's so good! Ellie and Isaac have great chemistry, and of course this is in large part down to Ellie being cool and fun in her own right. Their banter is funny, their conflicts are interesting, and their skill sets complement each other for some satisfying competence/teamwork porn. Ellie has a prideful bravado that plays well next to Isaac's more quiet competence.
Carver/Isaac - They start out as straight up adversaries, and we get to watch their relationship evolve as they come to rely on each other through some intense survival horror, and that's always a good time! (THIS is their first meeting, for reals.) I was quite pleased with the shippiness between them. There's plenty of casual touching, they get in each other's faces about Deep Personal Shit, they get stranded alone on an ice planet together, Carver hallucinates Isaac is his dead wife...like I said, real shippy!

Method 1 - Play it
- As of this writing, the games are all available on Steam, as well as through EA itself. They are amazing games, well worth the time to play for yourself. If you do play them, the third is co-op and best played with a friend—it will make all the difference! If you can't play the third with a friend, I heartily recommend watching an LP for the truest experience of that one. The game does some very cool things with the Marker's mindfuckiness...the two players literally experience different things while in the same space sometimes!
Method 2 - Watch an LP
Watching a Let's Play (LP) is every bit as good as playing a game yourself, especially if you find an LPer who takes the time to read the lore and listen to the dialogue! You get the same experience as if you were playing the game, but it's lots more accessible to everyone! :D

- Scribe - He has a lot of appreciation and love for both the game design and lore, and he makes sure to highlight all the best details! Unfortunately, he didn't play Dead Space 3 as co-op, which as I said above does make a BIG difference, however I will still link that LP for his insights in that game!
- Dead Space 3 - Here's a short collection of nice Dead Space 3 LPs specifically, for the full experience! The latter parts of the game are where most of the divergent POVs matter.

I'm also all about the overwhelming power of the Killers compared to the Survivors and how oppressive it must be facing the Killers.

Something interesting about Ace is that while he's a grifter and a conman, two thirds of his perks are entirely team-focused. Up the Ante and Open-Handed are both about benefiting the whole team. So I like to read him as having a team player side. - Any: The Killer catches a survivor (or more than one), and is brutalizing them. One (or more) survivors have managed to hide very close by, and they have to listen to every second of it. Do they try to help? Keep hiding and try to muffle their sobs? Is the exit nearby and do they have to make a choice on whether to escape or help? Are they actually safe, or does the Killer know they are there and comes for them too in the end? For the brutalizing, go nuts. Get as bananas horrific as you please. Aside from my DNWs, everything's on the table here.
- Any Survivors: Hurt/comfort around the Campfire! Where the comfort is meager and weak because everyone is so very traumatized and wrung out and they have almost nothing left to give. :D Art-wise, I can picture characters huddled together, grim and haggard, taking whatever pitiful comfort they can from each other. :D
- Any: Art or fic of any character interacting with, making, burning, or using their offerings! Some of the offerings are so evocative or funny. Any kind of lore-focused piece on these would also be welcome. A few favorites: any of the shrouds, any of the various herbal/plant sachets, the wards, the wreaths, the coins, Bloody Party Streamers, any of the cakes.

Isaac getting beaten and menaced and tormented is the best thing ♥. I love watching him suffer, but I also love how he will NOT quit, and the crazy lengths he will go to make a thing happen. And then, on top of all that, he's always the one building other people up, keeping other people together, even when he's falling apart himself. And finally, I love those rare moments when he gets proper righteous angry. It doesn't happen often, but it is soooo cathartic when it does.
I love the eldritch, unknowable nature of the Markers/Moons and Isaac's relationship to them, how they're irrevocably a part of his life now and there's no escaping their touch on his mind. And I also loooove cults so I'm totally enamored with Unitology and how obsessed they are with Isaac and how it must be for him to be constantly be the object of their obsessions.
If you need to mess around with the circumstances of Norton's canonical death, or even ignore it entirely, go for it.

Adam's iron woobie-ness is great, and one of my favorite things about the games is how they put him through hell but how he just keeps on surviving and enduring, but also while never losing his compassion. So any and all angst or suffering piled upon Adam is delightful.
The hardships heaped on augs are especially interesting to me, particularly when contrasting how Adam, Pritchard, or Koller react differently to them and also when contrasting the very different way society treats Miller versus Adam.
And I super love all the things unbalancing Miller/Adam. :D Age difference, the boss/subordinate thing, the vast social and class power difference, the vast physical power difference!

- Any: A party! Like a TF29 or SI office party, or Koller having a party at The Time Machine!
- Any: Handcuffed together! Could be some kind of special aug restraint that even the augs can't break out of, so Adam just has to be attached to someone until a specialist or whatever can be found to free them. :D :D
- Adam/Miller: Established relationship fic that gets into the headaches of hiding their relationship. Or failing to hide it because maybe someone finds them out! Maybe someone figures out what they're doing, or maybe someone comes to Miller to tell him that Jensen is acting shady, lol.

Very interested in his whole internal world and any conflict or lack thereof he might have!
For Reaper/Soldier and Reaper/Soldier/Ana, I'm most interested in pre-Overwatch or anytime before or during the collapse of Overwatch!
And I just love pretty much any angle on Genji/Mercy. I love that she asked him out first, I love that them having a relationship didn't solve all Genji's problems and he had to go off on his own and do a lot of work on himself. I love that Mercy in her personal life can be standoffish and kind of off-putting to people and how that's what kind of brought them together because Genji wasn't put off at all.

- Reaper/Baptiste: First encounter! When did they first meet and why? Did Reaper come in to salvage a mission gone wrong and end up saving Baptiste? - Reaper/Baptiste: Post-desertion! Baptiste has fended off every Talon hit squad that came after him so far...until Reaper shows up.
- Genji/Mercy: Something set very early in their timeline when Genji is still in his angry stabby Blackwatch phase. Would love to see him trying to get his awkward bone on with this hot doctor who doesn't put up with his bullshit. ♥
- Maximilien & Doomfist: Max finally facing the consequences of betraying Doomfist! Or doing what he does best and managing to talk/negotiate himself out of those consequences.
- Maximilien & Doomfist: Art prompt! I want to see something just dripping in luxury. Doomfist must take time to enjoy all the resources at his disposal SOMEtime, right? I'm seeing champagne, jewels, expensive decor, a great view, and Doomfist in his formal attire!
- Maximilien & Anubis: I could see where other omnics might consider Max a traitor to his own kind, so what if Anubis got Max within his reach? I'm guessing he would not be happy with Max, and his presence in Max's head would be pretty horrifying considering Anubis can override Max's free will. D:

I always use a custom Shepard, so avoidance of his canon physical description iwould be appreciated.
While I do wish Kaidan were romanceable for both Shepards in ME1, I do absolutely love the slow burn aspect of his friendship with mShep, turning into an estrangement in ME2, and finally reconciliation and a deeper relationship in ME3. Honestly I wouldn't change a thing about it even if I could! So feel free to lean in to all that!

- Outsider perspective! Especially for a renegade Shepard with a dire reputation. Kaidan is a pretty staunch paragon, so what do people think about this mismatched pair? James probably had a few thoughts on Mars watching the two of them argue. Jack probably would have had an opinion! Maybe Dr. Chakwas? Anyone you think would have an interesting perspective on them, go for it!
- Kaidan's POV on Horizon! Would be really cool to get into his head when he sees Shepard, especially if Shepard shows up with those renegade scars. It must have made things even worse, seeing Shepard look like that.
- Any correspondence or fleeting encounters between Shepard and Kaidan post-Horizon and pre-ME3. Did either of them reach out or were they both mostly avoiding each other? Even if they were, they still ran in the same circles and would have to encounter each other some times!
- Kaidan's POV during the ME3 Citadel standoff with Shepard, or immediately after! That scene is so tense. What's going through his mind while he and Shepard have their guns pointed at each other? Or what about afterward, when he makes the decision to join the Normandy again. I would love something introspective on how he came to that decision.
- Kaidan clashing with a renegade Shepard over some ruthless action Shepard took! The contrast between Kaidan and a renegade Shep is so compelling. I want to see them clash a little bit!

- Isaac & Norton: Norton's strange and manic paranoia points to at least partial influence by the Marker to me. Take that up to eleven. Have him go full stalker killer on Isaac in those frozen, claustrophobic hallways on Tau Volantis. Involve Carver or not as you like!
- Horror types: Killer, Sci-fi, Survival
- Isaac solo or Isaac /& Daina, Stross: Get into Isaac's time in captivity on Titan. What did they do to him? What was he going through mentally? Physically? Did he have any lucid periods? Or bring in Stross, as well. They built the Marker together. That is a truly singular experience to share with another person—what horrors did they endure together in that place? How did they sustained each other? And what was it like for Daina and the other Unitologists to have Isaac in their hands—a man who had such intimate contact with the object of their worship? For artwork, I'd be stoked to see any visual interpretations of the experiments they put Isaac through for those three years. Things were kept intentionally vague in-game—substantiate some of that mystery visually!

- Isaac solo: Get into Isaac's head and into his own relationship with the Markers, with the Brethren Moons, with whatever immense eldritch intelligence is moving these forces. I want to know what thoughts encroach when he doesn't have a survival situation to keep him busy. For fic this would very much be an introspective thing, but for artwork I'd love a visual representation of his madness and desperation!

- Slasher: 76 /& Any - For artwork, anything actiony or creepy is great! Violence is also good. I really like the glow of Slasher's eyes, so anything emphasizing that would be dope. Find some interesting uses for that weirdass chainsaw gun maybe? Anything with him brutalizing someone, really.

- Maximilien & Anubis - I could see where other omnics might consider Max a traitor to his own kind, so what if Anubis got Max within his reach? I'm guessing he would not be happy with Max, and his presence in Max's head would be pretty horrifying considering Anubis can override Max's free will. D: Which means not only psychological horror, but potentially body horror as well since Anubis can physically MAKE Max do whatever he pleases. Make him sufferrrr.
